Position Summary

The Grain Operations Manager will oversee grain being received, stored, and shipped while ensuring facility is run safely and efficiently. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist the Facility Operations Manager in the following areas:

  1. Selects, trains, and develops elevator operations staff and seasonal employees
  2. Supervises elevator operations staff and conduct employee reviews
  3. Oversees the daily work of the facility and equipment maintenance
  4. Manages the work of employees in the movement of grain between bins at facility
  5. Maintain grain quality by segregating, drying, blending, and aerating grain
  6. Ensure safety meetings are held regularly and safety records and training are kept up to date
  7. Maintain accountability for safety in all aspects of operations per OSHA guidelines

Education, Experience and Licensure

  • High School graduate with 5 years of prior experience
  • AS or BS degree preferred
  • Dependable/flexible in work hours to meet the needs of customers and during harvest

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.  Comfortable working at heights, such as walking on catwalks in high positions.  Able to lift up to 50 pounds.  Comfortable climbing fixed and stationary ladders.  Able to shovel as needed.  Has the ability to work in confined spaces and in a broad range of climate conditions.  Comfortable utilizing mobile and stationary equipment and systems.

 

Salary:  Commensurate with experience
